Ethereum Gas Tracker: Current ETH Gas Fees and Calculator
Check the current Ethereum Mainnet gas price in gwei, compare Low, Standard and Fast estimates, and see the estimated cost of a simple ETH transfer in both ETH and USD. The tracker also provides estimated confirmation time when available, a fee calculator for custom gas units, and 24H, 7D and 30D gas history.
Ethereum gas can change from block to block. Check the live values and Last updated time before sending a transaction instead of relying on a fixed gwei number.
Current Ethereum Gas: Low, Standard and Fast
Low, Standard and Fast are reference levels for current Ethereum Mainnet conditions. They help compare fee choices, but the wallet used to sign a transaction can calculate different fee settings from the latest block and the transaction itself.
- Low is a lower current gas estimate for transactions that are not time-sensitive.
- Standard is the main current reference for a typical transaction.
- Fast uses a higher gas estimate for users prioritizing faster expected inclusion.
The live cards also translate each gas level into the estimated cost of a simple 21,000-gas ETH transfer, so a gwei value can be compared in ETH and USD. Estimated confirmation time is a network estimate, not a guaranteed completion time.
These values apply to Ethereum Mainnet. They do not represent fees on TRON, Solana, BNB Smart Chain, Bitcoin or other networks.
Ethereum Gas Fee Calculator
Use the calculator to estimate an Ethereum network fee from the expected gas units and a current gas price. Select Low, Standard or Fast, then use the 21,000-gas preset for a simple native ETH transfer or enter custom gas units when you already know the expected gas limit for a more complex transaction.
The simplified calculation used by the tool is:
Estimated fee in ETH = gas units × gas price in gwei × 10^-9
For a simple ETH transfer, the preset uses 21,000 gas units. ERC-20 transfers, swaps, NFT operations and other smart-contract interactions can require substantially different gas amounts, so 21,000 should not be reused for those transaction types.
Under EIP-1559, the final wallet settings can also involve the base fee and priority fee. For a detailed explanation of those components, see Ethereum Gas Limit vs Gas Price. If gas and gwei are unfamiliar, see What Is Ethereum Gas? and What Is Gwei?.
Ethereum Gas History: 24H, 7D and 30D
Current gas shows what Ethereum looks like now; history shows how the current Standard gas level compares with recent conditions. Switch between 24H, 7D and 30D to see recent movement instead of judging one live value in isolation.
Standard gas price over the selected period, low 0.042 gwei, high 0.170 gwei.
Standard gas price over the selected period, low 0.040 gwei, high 2.642 gwei.
Standard gas price over the selected period, low 0.040 gwei, high 35.9 gwei.
The period statistics are calculated from stored observations rather than static editorial numbers. This makes the chart useful for comparing today's gas conditions with the recent range.
Is Ethereum Gas High or Low Right Now?
Instead of labeling a gwei value universally as cheap or expensive, compare the current Standard gas level with the median for the selected history period. The tracker can show objective context such as 18% below the 7D median or 6% above the 30D median.
A lower current value relative to the recent median can indicate more favorable recent fee conditions, while a higher value shows that current gas is above the selected period's midpoint. This is historical context rather than a prediction: network conditions can change quickly as new blocks and transactions arrive.
If there is not enough stored history for a reliable comparison, the current-vs-median result is not displayed.
How Often Are Ethereum Gas Fees Updated?
Current Ethereum gas values are updated automatically as network conditions change. Check the Last updated time next to the tracker before using Low, Standard or Fast estimates for a transaction.
The transaction-cost estimates in ETH and USD use the latest available gas and ETH price data. Historical 24H, 7D and 30D charts are built from regularly stored gas snapshots, so recent conditions can be compared with the current Standard gas level.
If fresh data is temporarily unavailable, the tracker may show the most recent valid values together with their update time. Outdated values are not displayed as current.
When Ethereum Gas Matters for SwapETH.org Routes
Ethereum gas applies when ETH is sent from Ethereum Mainnet. For example, when swapping ETH to BTC, USDT, XMR or another supported asset, the outgoing ETH transaction requires an Ethereum network fee paid by the sender.
When a swap sends native ETH to your Ethereum address, you do not pay Ethereum gas merely to receive the payout. Gas becomes relevant later if you send that ETH or use it in another Ethereum transaction.
If ETH is on a different network or represented as another token such as WETH, do not assume the Ethereum Mainnet gas values on this page apply. Always follow the network shown by the active swap order or wallet.

Check Gas Before an Ethereum Swap
Check the live Ethereum gas level and estimated transfer cost before sending ETH. Then return to the relevant swap route, review the live exchange quote and confirm the source and destination networks before creating the order.

What is the ETH gas fee right now?
The current Low, Standard and Fast gas estimates are shown in the live cards at the top of this page. Each card shows the gas price in gwei and the estimated cost of a simple 21,000-gas ETH transfer. Check Last updated because Ethereum gas can change from block to block.
How much does an ETH transaction cost?
The cost depends on the gas used by the transaction and the fee per gas unit. Use the calculator with the current Low, Standard or Fast level and the expected gas units. A simple native ETH transfer can use the 21,000-gas preset, while token transfers and contract interactions can require more.
Which Ethereum gas level should I use: Low, Standard or Fast?
Low, Standard and Fast are reference choices rather than guarantees. Low can suit less urgent transactions, Standard is a general current reference, and Fast uses a higher gas estimate when faster expected inclusion is more important. Your wallet can still choose different fee settings when the transaction is signed.
How long will an Ethereum transaction take at the current gas price?
When confirmation-time data is available, the live gas cards show an estimated time for Low, Standard and Fast. It is only an estimate: actual inclusion depends on changing network conditions, the fee settings submitted by the wallet and the transaction itself.
How much ETH do I need for gas fees?
Keep enough ETH to cover the estimated network fee in addition to any ETH amount being sent. The required amount depends on the current fee settings and the gas needed by that specific transaction. Use the calculator for an estimate before sending.
What happens if I do not have enough ETH for gas?
A wallet normally cannot submit or successfully execute an Ethereum transaction without enough ETH to cover the network fee. Review the wallet's estimate and keep sufficient ETH available before broadcasting the transaction.
